Challenges
Panel Changes & Copy: Began as one large print to be put into the student lounge. But later needed changes due to new placement within school and changing to three panels for easier printing.
Solution: Deleted wording due print being moved to high traffic walking area, and changed page set up within illustrator.
Digital Page set up: Ensuring an accurate representation of what I created in Illustrator vs real life took time. I had to account for viewing distance and perspective, DPI, the print shop’s ICC profile, and the gamut of the EFI 16H Hybrid Wide-format.
Solution: Frequent communication with the print shop staff, multiple test prints at smaller scales, and personal research.
ProgramPattern: At the beginning of the project there were 6 programs within the artwork, which was easier for symmetry purposes within the art piece. It was later changed to seven programs leaving complications for pattern symmetry.
Solution: A new strategy had to be made to suit the project restrictions while remaining aesthetically pleasing.
