Challenges
Page setup: The inverted layout of this calendar posed challenges due to each month’s corresponding photo needing to be placed in a different position so that the final printed product would read correctly once folded.
Solution: Internet searched and found located example calendar to use as visual guide.
Color Choices: Graphics professor had different color choice (the final page and the front title font color) opinions from my own, choosing a color combination that satisfied her vision and mine took several trial and error print sessions.
Solution: Continued created multiple options for her to mix and max colors combinations until we came to an agreement.
Picture choices: To represent the student body of a college campus I had to make sure I was not leaning too heavily into one demographic. I also needed to make the color choices vary enough to fight against visual uniformity.
Solution: Had to ask the graphics professor for more pictures to widen the options.
Digital Transfer: Fiery Command Workstation software within print shop had a learning curve to transfer files correctly to the final Xerox printer.
Solution: We discovered one of the printer connection cords was not connected to the printer.
